Located  near the banks of the Potomac River in Washington , DC The Korean Veterans Memorial honors the men and women who served in Korean. The black 41 panel wall has over 2400 images of support personnel . The wall is divided  into Army , Navy and the Air Force. The images were selected  from 15000 images  released by the National Archives,  Part of the wall has inscribed the slogan “Freedom is not Free”

The number 38  is very important in understanding this memorial. As you walk around the memorial you will see 19 stainless steel statues. The statues represent the different branches of the military, Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines. On a sunny day you can see the reflection on the wall of the 19 statues. If you count the 19 statues and the reflections on the wall you get 38. The 38th parallel is the demilitarize zone. 38 months is how long the war lasted. Over two million non  military were killed.
